Who's really writing the cheques
Chopra Jonas invests as an individual angel, favouring consumer and tech brands she can catch early. Documented bets include Bumble, skiwear label Perfect Moment and rental marketplace Apartment List; her ventures Anomaly and Sona are businesses she founded.

Chopra Jonas started investing in 2018, introduced to it by her long-time manager Anjula Acharia, and has stayed an individual angel rather than building a fund or a family office. The cheques cluster in consumer and food brands, plus a handful of tech rounds she joined alongside other celebrities: Bumble, Holberton School, Genies, Apartment List, Olipop, Rob's Backstage Popcorn. The businesses she actually built matter more than the portfolio: haircare brand Anomaly, which Reliance Retail bought in 2026, and Purple Pebble Pictures, the production company she set up in 2015. She has said the deciding factor is a personal stake in the product, and most of her deals do trace back to something she uses or a market she knows. What she does not disclose is size: not one of her cheques has a published figure, so the round totals below are the companies' numbers, not hers. Her India connection runs through distribution and launch partnerships rather than Indian cap tables — despite the assumption, there is almost no documented record of her backing Indian startups, with InnerChef the one exception reported.
I've always believed that investing in women is key to social transformation and economic growth.
